August is by far my favorite month out of the Summer, with the anticipation of fall colors, we squeeze in family barbecues, spontaneous trips to our favorite lakes, and even appreciate our iced tea on the front porch a little more.

Winter Cold is here….
January 21st, 2012 | by admin | 1 Comment
The Canoeist continues to get good fishing reports from Ely, Gunflint, Sawbill and Two Harbors, Duluth area lakes. Lake trout are abundant, rainbows, brook trout, and walleyes & crappies.
Ice conditions are very good! 10-14 inches with ice being made everyday because of the cold temps. Temps have really fallen! But thanks to SnowTrekker tents & stoves, winter camping can be fun & enjoyable.
Snow conditions haven’t changed much: Gunflint 8-12, Sawbill 4-8, Ely 3-6, North Shore very little.
