Sawyer - Venture Canoe Paddle

Like its Sawyer Cruiser cousin, the Venture is intended for long trips and heavy use. The dual tapered, laminated oval Ponderosa Pine shaft indexes cleanly to the hand, has a medium flex that delivers power to the blade while protecting your muscles and joints. It will not rob heat from your hands. The Barrel Grip feels like the earlier Unigrip, but allows you to wrap your thumb around the end for more torque in a "J" or Duffek stroke.

The distinctive new composite blade has a core of Western Red Cedar, is slightly smaller than the Cruiser (8" x 20"), has a round-up tip profile and is protected by a full-rim Dynel ToughEdge^™. This provides some important results: lighter overall weight, much lighter swing weight, more durability along the edges, and without the square corners of the Cruiser blade, it will not wear out of profile any time soon. It's really pretty too!
